Is this a guided hunt?
Yes, all hunts are fully guided. The guide will be in the blind with you or standing next to you enabling them to answer any questions about the animals that you see.
What type of clothes should be worn?
You should be prepared to walk through high grass, brush, sticks, trees, ect.
Boots and snag resistant clothes are recommended. During the summer hunts, you will need to dress lighter according to the heat. The temperatures can vary from warm to very cold throughout the winter months. Please use the ink below to check the status of the weather before packing for your trip.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will need to provide your own weapons of choice. Also be sure to pack appropriate clothing for the time of the year, all toiletries, alcoholic beverages, ice chest and other optional items. A freezer and an ice machine are available at the ranch for your convenience. We also have large ice chest for temporary storage of meat if needed.
What type of hunting license do I need?
For exotic, non-resident hunters will need a 5-day, non-resident general hunting license which can be purchased at any Texas sporting goods store or Wal-Mart for $45. Texas residents will also need a general hunting license. If you are hunting whitetail deer, non residents will need a different license. Is there a taxidermist for the trophies?
Yes. Upon request, our taxidermist will come to the ranch, cape the animal, discuss the mount, and take a deposit. We can deliver your trophy to our taxidermist in Tomball, TX. For fee prices, please consult with ranch upon arrival.
Can someone clean and quarter my animal?
Yes, your first animal is included in the hunting price.
What other cost should I expect once I’m on the ranch?
Besides gratuity, you will have to budget in any additional cleaning fees. While we have a guideline for the trophy fees and hunting at the ranch on the web page, we will be more than happy to send an e-mail estimate of all cost that you may expect (including taxidermy, processing, or daycare fees), so that that there will be no surprises.
Can small children come to the ranch?
Absolutely! We welcome first time hunters to the Ranch always! We also offer daycare services for limited hours during the morning and evening hunts. This allows couples/parents to have some time to concentrate on the hunt while being reassured that the kids are looked after. Please call ahead and consult with staff before arriving if traveling with small children that need to be watched over.
What if I want to bring a non-hunter?
Non-hunting guests can be brought for a cost of $75/day, all inclusive, which will cover their meals and lodging. Non-hunting guests must be booked in advanced. Our blinds can handle three people including the guide.
What is customary gratuity?
Your gratuity is always appreciated by your staff. The ranch staff is on duty to insure you the best experience possible. Customary gratuity is 10-20% of your trophy fee/hunter, and is divided among the guides, cook, and housekeeper. If any staff member goes the extra mile in performing their services, feel free to show your appreciation with additional generosity directly to that individual. The staff is on duty 16 hours per day to serve you in any way possible. Your Guides, Cooks, and Housekeeper are not on a salary and are on the ranch for your sole purpose, so please be considerate and generous. Please pass these guidelines to other hunters in your group.
Is this hunt recommended for younger hunters?
We welcome the first time, or younger hunters to our ranch with parental guidance.
Is alcohol allowed at the ranch?
Yes, however please drink responsibly. We will only provide the setups. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol. We reserve the right, and will exercise the right, to not take anyone hunting who is intoxicated or impaired.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my hunt?
You can cancel your hunt, but there are no refunds for hunt s that are not taken. You can reschedule your hunt with no penalty, as long as it is rescheduled within two weeks of the original date. Thirty days notice must be given to reset a hunt to avoid forfeit.
